GoatDraw: draw.io diagrams on iPhone and iPad

GoatDraw is a native app for iPhone and iPad for diagrams, mind maps and visual plans. It opens draw.io (.drawio) files directly on the device, edits them with touch and Apple Pencil, works offline and saves back to the same file, so the diagram opens again in draw.io on a Mac or PC.

GoatDraw on iPad editing a draw.io diagram

What it does

  • Open .drawio files from Files, iCloud Drive or any cloud provider and save changes back in place.
  • Edit shapes, connectors and text with touch and Apple Pencil.
  • Mind maps, weekly plans and templates for flowcharts, org charts and projects.
  • Export as PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG and .drawio, with a preview of every page.
  • Names missing shape libraries and adds them.
  • No account, no analytics, no tracking; works offline.

Why I built it

draw.io is a common format for architecture and process diagrams, but on iPhone and iPad it usually means a browser tab. GoatDraw draws on a native canvas instead of embedding a web view, so diagrams feel at home on touch devices while the files stay compatible. GoatDraw is an independent app and not affiliated with JGraph Ltd., the makers of draw.io.
